So, the EX 22 has just been announced, and as hinted at earlier it is the Psycho/Psyco (don't get me started...) Gundam Mk-II that is on its way, and it looks to be a really nice figure too. Just like the MRX-009 the Mk-II will feature the transform-functionality out of the box, so I'll end up buying two just for the heck of it I guess...
More interestingly - and a bit surprising - is that we are also getting a companion accessory pack released under the CORE brand. Bit of an odd choice since the Converge Redefinition series is supposed to update existing figures with new markings and gear and the like. This might be explained when you examine the equipment a bit closer.
Since there isn't a whole lot of gear to put on the Psycho Gundam Bandai solved this by placing a DODAI and a repainted Qubeley Mk-II in the box as well. These are of course the really interesting parts although the beam sabers look nice too. I mumbled a bit about why we only got the red Qubeley Mk-II in the Converge #07 set but the reason was apparently it was being held back to make sure people purchase this equipment set. This was clearly not an afterthought and although I welcome the mobile suit the marketing strategy leaves a bit of a sour taste.
The Psycho Gundam Mk-II is scheduled for June 2016 and will retail with a suggested price of ¥2950. The equipment set will be Premium Bandai exclusive and sells for ¥2100.
