Bandai have dropped some news, or rather teasers, in preparation for the C3AFA hobby fair in Tokyo August 24-25. These are mainly hints so far although we see one actual proper figure reveal. We will know more once the figures hit the fair tables I suppose.
First up, Bandai are revealing a new Gashapon figure series, an "ultimate" Gundam figure series. Apparently also with scenery and lightning gimmicks. This leads me to believe it might be an adaptation of the Bandai Ultimate Luminous figure line that we have been seeing for Ultraman the past couple of years. I have actually picked up some of those buildings for possible use with Gundam dioramas myself.
Next up we have a fleeting announcement of the latest Mobile Suit Ensemble EX figure. With volume ten featuring the Strike Gundam I think few will be surprised to see the Freedom added to the mix. It kind of elicits a yawn from pe personally, as I am so sick of seeing the Strike and the Freedom again and again. The Freedom will be released as EX14 and preorders are expected to open shortly before the opening of the fair.
So what about Gashapon Warrior? Well, "of course" there are new ones coming... I'm not sure if this Z'Gok figure is a leftover Senshi Forte design or if it will indeed be part of the launch wave for the coming successor series.
